Design and Implementation
The Project
I was responsible for the end-to-end design and implementation of an e-commerce web shop using WordPress and WooCommerce. My role covered all aspects of the project, including UI design, product setup, and visual content creation. From concept to completion, I managed the entire project with a focus on user experience and functionality.
ROLE
✅ Information Architecture: Designed the information architecture that guides customers through complex safety features and product variations, so technical depth never came at the cost of clarity.
✅ Custom Icon System: Designed a custom icon system specifically built to communicate technical safety information at a glance, translating dense certification language into something a non-expert customer can trust instantly.
✅ WooCommerce Backend & Product Data: Built and configured the WooCommerce backend to handle complex, structured product metadata, including safety certifications, color combinations, and technical specifications, not just as images, but as organized data the platform could actually use and maintain.
✅ Frontend Implementation: Built the frontend in WordPress from the ground up, translating the information architecture and icon system into a fully responsive, functioning webshop.
Project Outcome
🏆 The result is a webshop where technical and safety information is structured, not just displayed, letting customers navigate certifications and product variations with clarity instead of being overwhelmed by them.
🏆 By pairing a custom communication system (the icons) with a properly structured data backend, the platform supports an informed and confident purchase journey, on a product category where trust in safety information is not optional.
